IRCTC PNR – Lets You Know Status of Tickets

When you book tickets in Indian Railways, you may not always get a confirmed ticket. During the vacation times and the festival seasons there is a heavy rush in the trains. The tickets are sold soon after the counters open for the bookings. In such a case, you get your ticket booked under RAC or Waiting List. The PNR status is checked by giving the PNR number provided on your ticket. The PNR number is a 10-digit unique number present on the top left corner of your ticket. It is provided in all tickets, be it an e-ticket, i-ticket or a normal ticket. 

You can check the PNR status of your ticket online on the website of Indian Railways or IRCTC, at the enquiry counter at the railway station, by calling at the call centers or through your mobile phone by sending an SMS or calling the number 139. The online checking is the easiest and fastest method which you can do by sitting at home. By giving the 10-digit PNR number in the space provided, you get all details, including the current status of your ticket.

IRCTC has recently inaugurated its call center where you can call on the number 139 and check the IRCTC PNR and also make any other enquiries on trains, train time table, seat availability, prices of tickets, etc.
